The first verse was written 10 years prior to the song being completed about a girlfriend who was a local DJ who had been flying from Lansing to New Mexico to conduct an affair with her former Program Director, whom she eventually married. Years later during a writing session, Jennifer completed the song's narrative after a study on the death of Marilyn Monroe. It is one of two songs with a suicide theme on the record. This song would later be re-arranged for Marc's band Royal Scene.
